For thirty years, Christine Neill has had numerous solo shows in the United States and in France. She also participates in national and international, group and juried shows. Honors she has received include a Maryland State Arts Council Fellowship and the Mellon Arts Grant. Galleries in Baltimore and Massachusetts represent her and the work is included in many private and public collections.

Neill studied biology at Skidmore College but ultimately graduated with a BS degree in Art and earned an MFA in Painting from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. It was a natural transition from the examination of biological processes to metaphorically visualizing those activities as imagery in paintings and prints. She dates her interest in environmental conservation to those early studies.

Neill spends summers in New England, where she paints in a converted barn studio. The garden behind her Baltimore city home shares characteristics without duplicating those of the land in the country. She finds the activities, of painting and planting, support each other and influence her interpretation of art and nature.

Neill is a Professor in the Painting and Foundation Departments and Coordinator for Professional Development at Maryland Institute College of Art.
